The Champ is here!! Kaki West Returns

Photos by                                                                                  Tristan Kallis

A real friend to VBLAZIN as well as one of the HOT 100 going on 3 years has come back to the VB couch. Kaki West is a Model/Actress and so much more. But as big as she gets, she never forgot us at VBLAZIN MAGAZINE. Welcome back for your third cover Ms West. The only one that's had just about as many covers at you is Kimmi Kennedy. So Blonderella, I am sitting across from you and you look the part but you certainly don’t act the part. As a model/actress do you find that a difficult misconception? Being labeled? For example, pictures like for Playboy, but sitting here with you, you are very well spoken.

(For the first time in the interview she pauses, takes a sip of her drink, she stares at me)

(Sigh) The beauty of acting is you can become another character, you are playing a part. Modeling is similar you dress in costumes and look sexy, sultry what have you. But in the literal sense someone may take that as who you are, but it is just a picture. It is not I. Yes to battle with the stereotype of a dumb blonde can be very draining.

So would the real Kaki West please stand up? I am playin… I have read all your articles so much on your father (the famous politician, writer Bing West), your background, your travels etc, but can you give our readers a sneak peek into the real Kaki?

Visually I think your readers have seen more than a peek of me! Honestly no one is in my shoes. Fundamentally it is hard to give a person a snippet of me. As if they could then get some grand insight into whom I really am. Impossible.

All right. Let’s move on. Tell me something about yourself and your daily routine that would surprise the public.

I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a fiancé a friend and Roki’s mommy. I believe that surprises people, often times as a model you are viewed as a singular being. In my daily routine I move quickly, I walk fast, drive fast and like to get tasks done. I am extremely driven.

Who is Roki?

(She smiles widely)

My toy Maltese he is 2 and the most wonderful little doggie. Roki has made me so passionate about animal rights. I am signing petitions all the time for shelters, abused animals etc.

Being so busy and successful, what is one thing you do to keep you sane in the entertainment world?

I pray all the time; I say the Lords prayer every morning and night. I was raised in an Irish Catholic home. I attend mass at the Good Shepard Church in Beverly Hills. It brings me peace and hope. I am on a spiritual warpath. I am constantly buying new books in religion and self help.

I am church going man myself do you have a favorite passage from the bible? Or a spiritual mantra you scan share?

For we walk by Faith, not by sight- Corinthians

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world, gives do I give to you- John

Preach on Sister, you gave me chills. Woah Miss West you are definitely not a typical blonde model in LA.  You are Beautiful, smart and a spiritual woman.

You have a reserved nature, but your pictures are sexy and your video clips are hot. What’s up with that?

(Laughter) Thank you!  I am an old soul. I am an artist. Most of the really creative, talented artists in the world have had different on and off screen personas. Jonny Depp is handsome and an amazing actor.  On screen he plays various parts. Off screen he is shy and lives a very private life in Paris. I strive for that. My job as a model and actress requires me to create stories and make them so believable, the audience is enthralled and of course entertained. But my private life is completely different and very sacred to me. If I am the same on and off camera then I am not a very good actress or a model.

I couldn’t agree more. So what do you think of all the reality shows, seems everyone has a reality show. Do you think it’s ruining the real drama of TV and films?

Reality television is ridiculous and volatile. People choose to be themselves on and off camera and then cry about why they lost privacy. It’s simple: you just signed away your privacy, to Bravo, Vh1 or MTV. There is a notion that anyone can be in a reality show, and the sad part is they probably can. Producers prey on people and mold them into “characters”. It is very formulated.

So come on you never watch reality TV in your Beverly Hills pad? I can see you all sitting pretty watching Vh1 drama! My wife and I are hooked on Atlanta Desperate housewives! No guilty pleasures for you, spill it c’mon on Kaki?

(All of a sudden a relaxed and funny side emerges, along with a big roar of laughter)

Uh… oh I better come clean or you’re going to send NeNe after me!

Girl I knew it, you watch the Atlanta ladies!

Of course reality TV is a guilty pleasure. Yes, I have watched shows but afterwards I feel badly. All the drama and hurt sits with me. So I honestly can’t tune in that much it is not mind numbing for me, it affects me.

Kaki, do you have the 6th sense? My grandmother was a very spiritual and she could sense everything. Do you believe in the psychic or spiritual world, being religious?

Yes, since I was little I had vivid dreams and could sense things in people. I read spiritual books and as of late started meditating. I have a psychic whom is a God sent, Karen Gonzales. In the past year I have grown so much spiritually.

Thank you enlightened one. It has been a Pleasure. Now the Vblazin floor is open to you to give out shouts. Also tell our readers where they can find more of you.

First and foremost God for all he has blessed me with.

Romulus- For loving me and standing with me through it all

Dad & Betsy- I called on you and every time you lifted me up I love you. Vic- Thank you, you are a class act, and a friend.

To all my friends, family, fans thank you for your support and love.

You can find me on my official site www.kakiwest.com

*Writers Notes: Before every interview a journalist must dedicate hours of research on their subject, this includes previous articles, biographical information etc. You must be prepared to ask provocative questions. I was lackadaisical about the interview, a gorgeous blonde cover model; this would be a cakewalk. I was wrong, Kaki West proved to be anything but a simple interview.    When I returned home and played the recorder I realized I had just interviewed an expert. She never gave me more than I asked for, and would answer in a way that was so effortless it got me off track. I asked myself was it my ill preparedness, why didn’t I ask more controversial questions, get to the nucleus?

Then it dawned on me, this was a woman who transforms in front of a camera and then quietly retreats back. I am confident Kaki West will become a huge star, she is on the verge and I am waiting for the Big Bang. As my grandmother said “Still waters run deep.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a pa

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town outside of Ithaca, N.Y..  I used to play in the corn fields...I'm a country girl!

How'd you get into modeling? A lot of people were asking me if I was a model and if I had a Model Mayhem page.  I ended up making a MM page and then I got a lot of requests from photographers to do some shoots. I started to do shoots for fun just so I could have prints to show people.  I started modeling as something to do for fun, and I intend to keep it that way.

So what have you learned NOT to do since you've been in the biz? Ha, ha, funny question.  I have learned NOT to trust every photographer that says he can get you a deal.  Some photographers will shoot you, then expect "extras", to actually put you in print.  I've also learned to try and get a detailed idea of what photographers are shooting for, BEFORE you shoot with them.  I have done a shoot thinking it was for something completely different than what they used them for.

Where do you want to go with your modeling? I don't have a specific place of where I want to be with modeling. I enjoy taking pictures, I love trying new ideas/themes, and I love meeting new people.  But, I don't want to close myself off to one type of modeling.

If you could have any job in the world other than modeling what would it be? Hmm, I have a few career interests.  I enjoy being active so I'm looking into getting into the fitness field. Maybe a personal  trainer, or a class instructor?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Wow, a lot can happen in ten years.  I guess I hope to be established in my career, live in a house with a huge willow tree in the yard, maybe be married with a couple kids running around? LOL

Do you have a website? Yes, I am working on it now.  It is www.Heather-V.com

Are you a good dancer? I'd like to think I am.  I've been dancing my whole life and I am always trying to learn new styles of dancing.  I try to go out at least one night a week and get a good few hours of dancing in.

Would you ever spice things up by dancing for your man? Definitely!  I even have my own stripper pole!

What's the wildest thing you've ever done? Jeez, there are so many.  I guess it would have to be one time when I was really in the mood, and I needed some RIGHT at that moment.  So, I made my man at the time pull over, get out in the pouring rain, and "assist" me over the car in the mud. LOL

What's the wildest ting you ever saw? I once went to a swingers club not really knowing what to expect.  It was when I was visiting Atlanta, G.A., and I was looking for something interesting to watch.  I guess I was pretty surprised when I saw the "open room" where anyone and everyone has sex with each other.

So, does looks mean a lot to you when you're looking at the opposite sex? Yes and no.  I have to be physically attracted to you but you don't have to look like a supermodel.  To me, your personality is more important than your looks.

What type of man do you like? I like a man who knows how to treat a woman.  I like a man who can be sweet and romantic at times, but also knows when it’s time to be dominant and be a man. (If you know what I mean, LOL)

Are you the romantic laid back type or are you a wild child? I am sometimes both but I guess I am probably more of a wild child. I've done my share of crazy and wild things.

Turn ons: good smelling cologne, a good dancer, reading Penthouse letters, and sexy, curvy women.

Turn offs: Arrogance, irresponsibility, ignorance, and tightey whitey underwear!

So I hear you're a big music lover. What do you like to listen to? I love music; I like R&B and hip-hop to classic rock.

What's in your CD player now? Well, I am in Atlanta so I've been listening to a lot of dirty south music.  I think Rasheeda is in my CD player right now.

What did you listen to growing up?

I grew up listening to Classic Rock, everything from the Eagles to AC/DC.

What's your favorite gadget?

My mini rabbits, I freak when the batteries go dead on them!

Is there anything that really pisses you off? I don't get pissed off very easily, I am pretty laid back.

What makes you the most happy? My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bailey.

What do you do for fun when you're not modeling? I like to read books, work out, take my dog to the park, go hiking, go shopping, dance, hang out with my fam and friends, and play with my battery operated rabbit.

Okay we're almost done. We'll call this the lightning round. Are you a designer label type of girl? Not really

Walmart or Macy's? Wal-Mart

Thong or Granny Panties? Neither

Sex or Shopping?Hmm, tough one. I guess sex, THEN shopping.

If I gave you the floor to do shout outs, promotions, or whatever, who would make that list? Not too many people are supportive of me modeling but I have a few...Frank Henry for believing in me and telling me from Day 1 to get out there and try it.  Okoro-for helping me with all those long road trips to different modeling gigs. Lance Tyler-for giving me honest advice into this crazy world of modeling. And of course VBLAZIN MAGAZINE the hottest mag on the net!

VB Quick Note Quote::Megan Fox-isms: What Will She Say Next?

"There's one strip club in L.A. that I would go to called 'The Body Shop.' I was obsessed with it, and I'm in love with Motley Crue because Vince Neil sings about it in 'Girls, Girls, Girls.' I would go there and think, 'Oh my God, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee would come here! It's so amazing!' I don't do that anymore. But every once in a while I don't mind going out with some guys and hanging at a strip club." - GQ, October 2008

18 Health Tricks to Teach Your Body

Eating 10 hot dogs in 6 minutes and belching the national anthem may impress your friends, but neither of those feats will do much for your body—at least not much good.

Instead, why not train yourself to do something that may actually pay off?

We're not talking bench presses and interval training (though those do help). You can teach your body to cure itself from everyday health ailments—side stitches, first-date jitters, even hands that have fallen asleep.

Just study this list, and the next time your friends challenge you to an ice cream eating contest, chow down: You know how to thaw a brain freeze—and 17 other tricks that'll make everyone think you're the next David Blaine. But without all that "hold your breath for 17 minutes" mes.

Cure a Tickling Throat
W
hen you were 9, playing your armpit was a cool trick. Now, as an adult, you can still appreciate a good body-based feat, especially if it serves as a health remedy. Take that tickle in your throat: It's not worth gagging over. Here's a better way to scratch your itch: Scratch your ear. "When the nerves in the ear are stimulated, it creates a reflex in the throat that can cause a muscle spasm," says Scott Schaffer, M.D., president of an ear, nose, and throat specialty center in Gibbsboro, New Jersey. "This spasm relieves the tickle."

Experience Supersonic Hearing
'Y
ou're stuck chatting up a mumbler at a cocktail party, lean in with your right ear. It's better than your left at following the rapid rhythms of speech, according to researchers at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. If, on the other hand, you're trying to identify that song playing softly in the elevator, turn your left ear toward the sound. The left ear is better at picking up music.

Overcome Your Most Primal Urge
Need to pee? No bathroom nearby? Fantasize about Jessica Simpson. Thinking about sex preoccupies your brain, so you won't feel as much discomfort, says Larry Lipshultz, M.D., chief of male reproductive medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine. For best results, try Simpson's "These Boots Are Made for Walking" video.
